Heart rate variability: A new way to track YOUR well-being

WHAT IS HEART RATE VARIABILITY (HRV)?

A healthy heart beat is not a metronome. It contains healthy irregularities. Even if your heart rate is, say, 60 beats per minute, that doesn’t mean that your heart beats once every second – or at one-second intervals like a clock. Heart rate variability (HRV) is the physiological phenomenon of variation in the time interval between consecutive heartbeats. The level of HRV varies a lot between individuals, but in general terms, high HRV is viewed as a marker of good fitness and health, whereas low HRV is associated with a range of negative health outcomes and stress.     HRV

WHY IS HRV IMPORTANT?

low HRV is a sign of the sympathetic autonomic nervous system (also called the “fight-or-flight” system, or the stress system). And a higher HRV is associated with the parasympathetic nervous system (or the relaxed state). The trick is to have a good balance between the two nervous systems. A healthy person has a strong sympathetic AND parasympathetic system. Including the ability to shift between the two. But the main weakness of people in our modern-day society is a neglected parasympathetic system. There’s so much action going on and stress involved in our daily lives. In general, we’re too busy and don’t get enough rest.

A HIGH HRV IS SIGN OF HEALTH

Heart rate variability is an important metric because, in general, a high variable heart rate is a sign of health.   HRV is lower in many conditions like : stress, sleep trouble, depression, anxiety, PTSD, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, diabetes and obesity, asthma, non-tension headaches and migraines, IBS and IBD, acid reflux and gastroparesis, cardiovascular disease and symptoms, like POTS, bradycardia-tachycardia symptoms, atrial fibrillation, after stroke and cardiac infarction, cancer, etc…

How to ASSESS MY HRV

Here at Kinesis we assess HRV via a 5 minutes recording EKG then data are computed in a specific software for analysis.

You will get the results instantaneously and discuss it with the specialized practitioner.

We have the solutions in case you need to improve your HRV to recover your health status and homeostasis balance.
